Field Notes

Description:

This damselfly was unlucky to get stuck in a spiderweb. The spider didn't hesitate for a second and caught the damselfly in the neck. The 'fight' lasted for a minute or 2, then the spider dragged the corps to a save spot, bit of the head and had it for lunch. The rest of the body was dropped, seemed not worth the hassle.

Habitat:

Found between the yellow iris, close to water.

Notes:

Anyone knows what kind of spider this could have been?

@taka.ita, I think you are right here. I'll update the ID.
Not Azure damselfly, but Common Blue Damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum)
Amazingly true part in Web of Life..!!!
Yes, it was. I watched it for minutes. Nature can be rather cruel!
Thanks, I was still struggling,... like the damselfly :-)
