I'm very visual as well and use google a lot - didn't even know where to start on this one.
You're so welcome! I've found an easy way to look stuff up(but I'm also very visually oriented and can quickly spot identifying details). Google a description(or family name if I know it) and location. click images. Scan through images and find two or three of the same thing and click on those pages.....
I'm not sure - I'll keep looking - but thanks for the help
I would've sworn that its Western coltsfoot (Petasites frigidus or Petasites sagittatus), but the Jepson Manual says they don't occur in the Sierra Nevadas. I'm confused.
