Description:

Large Moth , the size of a lady's palm , orange/rusty brown with white and darker brown bandings , underneath a vivid purple

Habitat:

Flew onto the back screen , live in close proximity to a very highly tree reserve.

They are lovely. The purple underwing is very distinctive.
Oh, yes, sorry. I had it the whole day on my screen in my office and in the evening it was obviously already too late and I had to reopen all the links on my iPad at home...
Ok , thanks , corrected now :) .......it is the largest moth i have ever seen , i sure hope he or some others come for a visit !
You are very welcome, wish I was there to see it. :-) Just for clarification—the correct genus spelling is Abantiades. I think bayucca may have added an extra "h."
