Description:

Some type of purple thistle: Pointy purple flowers (start out green) that grow in clusters on the edges of a woody area. The middle photo is a few weeks before the other two.

Habitat:

Sunny patches in an overgrown woody area near a stream.

Notes:

They look painful, but you can touch them.
