Description:

Sheepshead feeding off of a dock piling on the barrier islands of the gulf coast of FL.

Habitat:

Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the US.

they are great hunters.. tough to get.. and they do have big teeth..
They love the pilings. They are encrusted with oysters and barnacles. Sometimes, if you are very quiet and listen, you can hear them gnawing away. Sounds like it would be creepy but at least it means a photo op is possible.
These fish have interesting looking teeth. Looks similar to molars.
He was chasing the sadrines for sure.. they are predators you know..
Actually, I was concentrating on the small Spanish Sardines that you can barely see in the upper right as blurs. This guy caught me by surprise!
