Yes you are right Florida , they come every summer to the estuaries here.. I just wondereed what sub species! th e photos were taken from a distance, not that great camera?? or photographer!!! I was unable to get across the rocks, tide was in. There were about 4 of the pelicans I could see!! thanks so much!
Definitely a brown pelican, possibly the California subspecies... hard to know for sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Pelican
