Description:

Large Swallowtail Butterfly (67 - 89mm) Black to blue black above - Bright orange eye spots - Thanks for ID Keith.

Habitat:

Our back garden - about a mile from river bank

Notes:

We have some carrot plants on the veranda which could be an attractor according to National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Butterflies.
