ganoderma lucidum could be confused with ganoderma carnosum. differenz is lucidum grows never on Nikko Fir (Abies homolepis), carnosum does. but if you still doubt, you can identify these two sp. from there spawn. ganoderma carnosum has bigger spawns than lucidum.!!

i think ashish nailed it . i just wanted to suggest the same. genoderma lucidum. "in east-azie he is known for great healng powers" and this mushroom is good to cultivate at home. !!!

Actually I inspired by Gina who had excellent knowledge of Fungi.....Just check her collection..!! I learned lot on Project Noah only...and from my friend Anand Pendharkar...!!!

Hahaha Atul... Red Reishi is Ganoderma Lucidum specie... I was not far away...!!
