Field Notes

Description:

About 8 inches (20cm) tall with the larger leaves looking about 3 inches (7.62cm) wide. The whole plant was probably about 9-12 inches (22-30cm) in diameter.

Habitat:

Spotted in a brackish marsh/wetland area.

Notes:

Reminds me of lettuce. Was tempted to taste it but decided it wise not to. If someone could identify would also be interested in knowing if it is also edible.

Thanks! I checked out the missions page yesterday when I signed up but only seen the featured ones.
Then add to Vegetable mission..!!
lol! I think I may have run across an abandoned garden. It does appear to be a type of Brassica oleracea. Perhaps a young Brussel Sprout plant... http://www.vegetable-gardening-made-simple.com/growing-brussel-sprouts.html
Can be a Milkweed plant.
