Field Notes

Description:

Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds measure about 3 inches total and weigh less than 4 grams. They are the only hummingbirds that breed East of the Mississippi.

Habitat:

We get about 2-3 hummingbirds in our yard every year. They usually hang out in a nearby River Birch and visit the feeder in front of my window.

Notes:

Two of them fighting at the feeder and then one poor little guy getting attacked by a bee!
