well I looked it up - its latin name is Solanum trilobatum ( so it belongs to the family of nightshades) there are, as you say, some medical uses - e.g immunomodulatory effects - you are right. I thought that all green parts of every Solanum kind are poisonous - but that doesn´t seem to be right... good lesson! thanks for sharing! :)
This is not Nightshade - Solanaceae.. I dont know the exact name, "Thoothuvalai is a tamil name , found all over in tamilnadu, Its leaves,fruits and flower used in food and as herbal
it is a Nightshade - Solanaceae- please be careful with that! Solanin is a poisoning substance - DO NOT USE IT
