Field Notes

Habitat:

New World Tropical areas. In the US: southern Florida and coastal Texas. Larva feed on various woody plants in the cashew family. Often on Brazilian Pepper an abundant invasive here in south Florida.

Notes:

This large moth was hanging out on the wall of a school early in the morning. according to bugguide.net, it is the only species of its Genus found north of Mexico.
