Description:

Some sort of red spotted beetle. Second picture shows that it's eating the plants. Both photos taken at dusk inthe same wooded area near a small stream in an otherwise urban area.

Red milkweed beetle

Tetraopes tetrophthalmus

If you didn't know the plant they're feeding on, it's a type of milkweed, Asclepias sp. (Hence the name!)
