Field Notes

Description:

Sorry guys - it seems my photos are loosing in quality once uploaded. This is a boldly decorated medium sized bird - roughly the size of pigeon.

Habitat:

The couple spotted here was seen at an exact same spot three weeks apart - the place in question is a camping site (or a series of camping sites, one after another), where a small stream still runs under these sandstone cliffs (pic No 6). This was Kunene region of Namibia (northwest), in arid acacia tree-and-shrub landscape. The region is still very dry (but still magnificent and rich in wildlife) at the moment, and it reserves some surprises like this spot.
