Field Notes

Description:

Perennial to 10" high, in clumps, with erect, twisted, hairy, sticky stems.
Flowers are fragrant, funnel-shaped, in tight, terminal clusters, with 5 blue or lavender (sometimes white), roundish corolla lobes and a densely hairy calyx.
Leaves are mostly basal, to 6" long, narrow, and pinnately divided into many small, hairy, sticky, smelly leaflets.

Habitat:

Tundra slopes and crests, in boulder fields and disturbed meadows, ad along trails.
