Field Notes

Habitat:

on a new farm/homestead - of some very blessed people... Tom and Emily Landman (http://www.facebook.com/n9udl) their home is located in the gorgeous unglaciated farmland area of southwestern Wisconsin - Clyde, Wisconsin.

p.s. Regarding location: These birds were photographed in Clyde Wisconsin, but when I searched for "clyde" the location was wrong. therefore, I used a nearby village (lone rock).

Definitely a male Ruby-throated Humminbird - depending on the light the colors change. Immature RTH have fledged and they have a whiter breast

The Ruby-throated Hummingbird is the only species found in your area. Your birds appear different because you only have a view of the back of the birds.

Hi Mandy: thanks for your suggestion. I did some research, and I don't think it's a ruby-throated, tho I could be wrong. I want to see if anyone else has suggestions. thanks...
