Field Notes

Description:

Very low growing plant (stems can grow to 10 cm). The basal leaves have toothed, widely lance-shaped blades up to 3 centimeters long (pic 3).Blue flowers with a five pointed sepal.

Habitat:

Spotted near a hiking trail at Deer Park Olympic National Park. 5400 ft a.s.l. Rocky meadow.

Notes:

Range: Endemic to the eastern portion of the Olympic Mountains.
