Field Notes

Notes:

I was out at sunset and saw this owl fly through the trees and perch about 100 feet from me. Even though the light was fading I figured I'd try and get a picture. It's not the best quality, but it captures the look of the woods when the sun goes down and the owls wake up.

Yeah, it's hard to get a good shot at the times when you're most likely to actually see an owl. I posted an earlier spotting of one that I found asleep in a low branch during the day. I was very excited to be able to examine it so closely. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6783165
Awesome Owl, most of the times light conditions difficult taking Owl photographs
Sometimes it's just important to hurry and 'capture' them no matter what the conditions. He looks so regal perched there!
