Field Notes

Description:

This is the last Moth from the recent trip. It was by far the most fascinating moth-find for me. I had no Idea that they could have transparent wings parts.

Habitat:

Found at the Mlawula Nature reserve lodge, early morning.

Dear Jeff! I recently became a member there, but since I have no exakt coordinates of my spottings, and the google map system did not seem to work in a "user friendly" way, I gave up my tries quite fast. PN is my first choice when publishing flora and fauna, but I dont mind to contribute to other scientific sites, as long as it is for a good purpose, fast and easy. After all, we have the same interest in preserving and understanding the nature. If the LepiMAP Virtual Museum wish to cooperate with the members of PN, it is always possible to create a mission here in their name, that would be the easiest way for me to contribute to their work, and they will probably reach other users as well. Best regards Tina
It would be great if you could submit this and any other moth and butterfly records from southern africa to the LepiMAP Virtual Museum at http://vmus.adu.org.za/. For unidentified specimens you will get an ID (in most cases) by experts and you will contribute important data to science.
Thank you very much Alice and Lasse :)
Thank you for your great comments Saumya and Bhagya. Fanie, even though I was quite selective on what moths I fotographed, It feels that I have had enough of moths now for quite some time. :) Dan :) I did not attend the class of face-bugging yet. But since you are very good at it I am sure you can be of great help if I am in need of instructions :D... I wish you all the best with your travel adventures from now, and I hope that you will have access to internet every now and then and can upload a spotting from the wild :) Best of luck!
Wow! Spectacular! Should have put it on your face ;)
Nice collection of moths Tina :-)
