Field Notes

Description:

Feverfew is a commonly found traditional medicinal herb, found in many old gardens, and is also occasionally grown for ornament. The plant grows into a small bush up to around 46 cm (18 in) high, with citrus-scented leaves and is covered by flowers reminiscent of daisies. This plant self seeds itself all over the garden and we let it go wherever it wants to - the bees and bugs love it.

Habitat:

It spreads rapidly, and they will cover a wide area after a few years and can be seen all over the UK.

Notes:

I took this shot in my garden in Suffolk, England after a lovely light rain, I love rain on plants and flowers, it gives them a kind of magical quality.

Feverfew has gained a good reputation as a medicinal herb and extensive research since 1970 has proved it to be of special benefit in the treatment of certain types of migraine headaches and rheumatism. Great shot... love the rain on plants too!
