Carphophis amoenus amoenus
35.9128, -82.9201
Field Notes
Description:
Known commonly as an Eastern Worm Snake, this little guy looked like an earthworm, at first, until I looked closer. He was the size of an earthworm, but was darker brown in color. His head was as big around as his body.
Habitat:
He was on the side of a gravel road, near a Creek, and a hiking trail. This was near Wolf Creek, in Tennessee, between Hot Springs, NC and Del Rio, TN, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Notes:
The picture of the quarter, beside a rock is for size comparison.
