This dragonfly was shielding itself from the hot weather in the oleander plant.Looks like a flame skimmer.

thanks so much for all the ID's. There is still more life around. But the heat drives them into hiding. I was after the cute joaquin valley kit fox. Impossible to photograph. The run away fast.
Looks good for flame skimmer. I don't think any other red dragonfly in the area has that shape.
