Description:

This brown anole was sitting on a citrus tree when I spotted it. This series of pictures shows it changing from almost black to a light brown.

Habitat:

Spotted in the tropical south.

Notes:

The brown anole is not native to FL and is considered highly invasive.

Yes, that seems to be the reason. It is the only one I found even mentioned on EOL. They do blend amazingly well. This one knew he had been spotted and was not pleased.
Why does it change color? Is it trying to camouflage?
