Description:

light violet abdomen, about 3" long

Habitat:

temperate forest, near water

Notes:

There were loads of these dragonflies around our camp. They skimmed the surface of Maple Leaf lake in Algonquin looking for food.
In the last 2 photos, it is eating a deerfly. You can see it's wing sticking out of its mouth in the second last photo.
