Eastern Dobsonfly

Corydalus cornutus

Comments (1)

Although this looks very similar to an Eastern Dobsonfly, I believe this is a related insect called a Fishfly. I am having a difficult time distinguishing the coloration to help determine if this is a Spring Fishfly or a Summer Fishfly. Time of year says it may be a Summer Fishfly. http://bugguide.net/node/view/8568 http://bugguide.net/node/view/8569 Dobsonflies do not have those lovely antennae (called pectinate) that your insect is sporting.
