Field Notes

Description:

Black w/ red beak. Adult hen has white streaks along the wing feathers.

Habitat:

They live along streams and ponds. Thickets and grass serve as their shelter.

Notes:

They feed at about 7 or 8 when the sun is up. Under the carpet of groundcover or low vegetation, they search for food and chase little frogs.
