Field Notes

Description:

This raccoon was on the ground when I first saw it. By the time I got back with my camera, he had seemingly disappeared. He must have moved because the tree rustled. I really was not prepared for him to be so scared! Of course, he was out in the middle of the day. The ringed tail is partially visible in the second picture.

Habitat:

Spotted in a coastal forest in the tropical south.
