Description:
This cicada was resting on on a fence post. I actually thought it was dead. When I took the leftmost picture, it started kicking at me. OK, so it wasn't dead. I found it odd that it was resting on an engineered fence post rather than one of the trees all around it.
Habitat:
Temperate to tropical locations. Spotted in the tropical south in a coastal forest.
