Description:

Fuligo septica grows on rotten wood and plant debris, but can also grow on the leaves and stems of living plants.

Habitat:

common in the hardwood forest of Algonquin

Notes:

I spotted this on a fallen over dead tree. It is also known as dog vomit slime mold but apparently here has taken on this common name.
