Habitat:

Spotted on my tent in the Gaspésie National Park. It had been raining for a while.

Oh wow ! thank you guys... as i said, i'm really bad with bugs (i'm not too fond of them actually !).
It's moth, not a butterfly. According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alypia_octomaculata) it's found in eastern USA and parts of Canada. Hope that helps! :)
