Field Notes

Notes:

This buttercup was unfamiliar to me, and when I got home and hit the books to identify it I learned that it's a protected species in Massachusetts and listed as "Threatened". The prospect of seeing an unfamiliar species is one of the things that keeps me going out into the woods and wetlands of my area, and discovering something genuinely uncommon only adds to the excitement.
