Description:
Is a land orchid hemicryptophytes: his fleshy rhizomes and creeping shoots develop, sprouting a stalk in spring annual of about 20-70 cm in length.
They have 4 to 8 leaves lanceolate, alternate, taking place on shorter and shorter until near the end of the stem. Their margins are entire, the tip weevil.
The inflorescence cluster consists of bilateral symmetrical flowers with attractive color. The 3 sepals and 2 lateral petals are oval and acuminate. Its color can vary from whitish green to deep green with purple spots or purple.
The lip is divided by a ball-shaped hipochilo, with the outer surface of a green-white and streaked with dark veins. The yellowish-white epichilo is undulating with a fan.
The ovary is inferior. It produces a dry capsule with countless tiny seeds.
Habitat:
Temperate and subtropical zones of the North of Africa, Europe, Siberia and center of China. Found in woodlands and open spaces. with development underground in calcareous soils, often in wet sand dunes near the sea.

Notes:
We were very lucky to find these in the Meerdael woods, very close to our home. Close to a water pond.
