Field Notes

Description:

Light green moth, with brown abdomen. Rests with both wing pairs visible, in a tent shape(see second picture taken from below). About 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inch across

Notes:

There were several outside by our porch light. This one snuck into the pantry

My best guess is N darwiniata - both because of the white antennae and fringe and because of where it has been found and the food plants.
They all look a tiny bit different from this one, but thank you, it is obviously a nemoria!
I'm not sure of the species, but BugGuide has some excellent pictures and range maps to look through, so you might be able to find it there!
