Field Notes

Description:

Boxy shape. Brown and gold. 5mm long 4mm wide.

Habitat:

Found in vegetable garden. Strong preference for legumes. Most found on pole lima bean.

Notes:

Was not known in the western hemisphere until 2009. First observed in Georgia. DNA studies of its endoparasites established that the Georgia population originated in Japan.

Adults often overwinter in structures.

They feed mainly on legumes.
