Field Notes

Description:

Small butterfly that is an ochre color with yellowish bars in the middle of the wings.

Habitat:

Prefers open grassy areas and often feeds on asters, clover and other field-grown wildflowers.

Notes:

Seen in a field recently cleared of wheat grass, that is now filled with Pink Clover, Foxtail Grass, Moth Mullein, Queen Anne's Lace and Coneflowers.
