Description:

This species of flowering plant from the genus Echinacea is native to eastern North America, and found in the wild in much of the eastern, southeastern and midwest United States. Many cultivars are now found with various flower quality and plant form.

Habitat:

Spotted in a nearby garden. In the wild its habitats include dry open woods, prairies and barrens.

Notes:

Pollinated by butterflies and bees. Florets within the flower head are hermaphroditic.
