Field Notes

Description:

430mm to 500mm long 210 - 240mm at the shoulder - Grey above with buff underfur shows on head and shoulders - underparts paler grey.

Habitat:

Live in nests and holes in the large woodland that stretches from the rear of our property. They have an ample feeding venue nearby. Will take corn from agricultural farms but have many nuts of hickory beech or pecan in the woods. Will knaw tree trunks.
