Field Notes

Description:

large, green, faint black markings

Habitat:

large puddle from recent rain, near forest

Notes:

I spotted this about 2km up the road from my house in a semi wild area along the Chippaw creek. There were a lot of these frogs around. I love how you can see me and the blue sky in its eye.

Cute frog. Very pale color, but its dorsolateral ridges, which bullfrogs lack, make it likely to be a Green Frog, Rana clamitans, although it might be best to see if any other species of Rana are found around there.
