Description:
the first picture is what it looks like when it first comes up, as it continues to grow, it starts to look more like the second picture. You couldn't walk a couple inches in any direction without finding another one, there were probably 100 or more all in this little grassy area.
Habitat:
under some trees, pines and others non-evergreens mixed together, at the entrance to Hueston Woods State Park. the grass is mown right there, but the trees completely over hang the area, so it doesn't get much sun. some pine needles are mixed in with the grass. it was a fairly warm day still, and we had some rain in previous days so the ground was fairly damp.
Notes:
Caps seemed pretty dry
