Field Notes

Description:

Several medium sized sandpipers on the shoreline. Bill twice as long as head. Moderately long, pale legs. They feed in a sewing machine like motion. Long-billed Dowitcher is recorded as seen every 2 to 5 years on the Hagerman Bird List. Friends of Hagerman spotters have been reporting seeing these birds in this area of the refuge.

thanks Tom15. Dowitchers were on the list for the Friends of Hagerman. I will see if I can narrow it down :)
Looks like Dowitchers, possibly both Short-billed and Long-billed.
