Louisiana Heron was a way cooler name for these guys. It's like when the Oldsquaw was changed to the Long-tailed Duck, and the Swamp Canary was changed to the Prothonotary Warbler.

Did you see them on the Gulf of Mexico?
I had my eyes peeled for these guys during my recent trip to the coast. The last day I was there I finally started spotting them all over the place.
