I agree with Male Pondhawk. Blue dasher has a striped thorax.
Hey Courtney! I'm certain this dragonfly isn't a Blue Dasher; I'm fairly certain it's a male Common Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicollis). [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythemis_simplicicollis] There may be other D&Ds in your collection that have been mis-identified. Time permitting, I'll take a second look and get back to you. In the meantime, may I suggest you add tags to your spottings? It should make it easier to search the PN database for your photos. Happy Holidays!
