Description:

Orange mushrooms on a live tree

Habitat:

Growing on a redwood tree in the Muir Woods National Monument ancient rainforest.

Interesting. I'm not sure what these are without seeing the gills but I don't think they're Omphalotus.
Its a good photo! They are supposed to glow in the dark!
Thank you Karen and p.young713 for your help! The jack-o-lantern mushroom does seem to be a good fit. I wish I took more pics and knew to ask a ranger about its bioluminescence!
Could be jack o lantern, but I've never actually seen on, so I don't know
Doesn't look like it and that family doesn't usually grow ON wood
I believe it is from the Craterellus genus. I'm still unsure of the species. Anyone a mushroom expert?
Unfortunately I don't recall as it was four years ago :) They appear to be an inch in diameter but it's just a guess.
