Field Notes

Description:

1cm, raptorial forelegs, ambush bugs routinely capture prey ten or more times their own size

Habitat:

urban garden/ semi wild island forest

Notes:

I spotted a few of these at Dufferin Island, just upstream from the Falls and at nearby Oak Hall. This a combination of those 2 sightings. In the last 2 photos it's eating a fly.

Nice insect. The eyes are very different. It is eating a bee ?
