What you are seeing is a baby beech tree that in the future can turn up to 49 m tall.
The European Beech starts to flower when it is between 30–80 years old.

Woods.

It is a beech baby tree! finally I´ve got and ID for this one!
I am not sure yet, Lynne. Because the flowers comes in between the two leaves as purple fluffy and the leaves are quite sturdy. it looks like it may be a little growing tree?.. I need to keep searching.. but many thanks! :-)
