http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6916248 @ arun,I am trying to ID this nest. Any possibility it could be a sunbird?
Thanks @MickGrant
Thank you for providing this great shot - I spent a few years in India and collected books (some old) on birds mostly - I have a an old Salim Ali and a Hugh Whistler 1928 (nice colour plates) I miss your great food. Currently listening to the 2nd Test on BBC web from Trent Bridge.
Thanks a lot @Satyen and @ MickGrant
Exactly Mick, it's a non breeding male purple sunbrid as per the same book. http://www.flickr.com/photos/birdsbynabarunsadhya/5077258051/in/photostream
According to Salim Ali "The Book of Indian Birds" This is the Nectarinia asiatica _Hindi Shakarkhora Purple Sunbird?
Beautiful spotting. I have seen many purple rumped sunbirds, infact there are many nested in my own garden. Never seen one with a purple line running across in the front.
Thanks @alicelongmartin
