Description:

tall,flat top clusters yellow ray flowers, stems erect ,single or several together. Leaves petioled except uppermost ones.Blades elongate,triangular-cordate,sharply to serrate dentate,thin, shiny,glabrous above, short villous on veins below.bracts in one series withn1-several shorter outer ones,lance oblong,green with scarious edges and black tufted tips. Rays yellow

Habitat:

Moist alpine herb-mats, alpine meadows, or alpine brooklets

Notes:

Cordilleran, north to lat 64 N in Yukon and south to California and New Mexico
