Description:

Black bird with yellow, orange and red markings on head, rump and wings.

Habitat:

This bird was found flapping on the ground under a large tree by one of my teen nature enthusiasts.

Notes:

This bird was taken to Project Wildlife for care then released.

Update on the bird: Unfortunately it somehow broke its wing so we turned it in to Project Wildlife here in San Diego to care for it then release it.
Thank you for the ID's. The Western tanager is definitely it! I hope it pulls through!
