Hi Brian, cute spot! It's hard to say exactly which species this is, especially since this is a nymph (not full grown). There is a good chance that this is a Chinese Mantid (Tenodera aridifolia sinensis) : http://bugguide.net/node/view/10098 But I can't say for sure. This would be a nice addition to the Marvelous Mantids of the North East mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/15738247
