Description:
I went outside, to check on my butterfly garden. I saw three, Gulf Fritillary Pupae, that were attached to one of there host plants. I took one pupa, and brought it inside my house with me. I then took this one pupa, and put it inside one of my terrariums. I did this, so I could watch this one pupa eclose. One day later, this pupa eclosed, and out came this beautiful, Gulf Fritillary Butterfly. Eclose: ( of an insect ) emerge as an adult from the pupa, or as a larva from the egg.
Habitat:
The Gulf Fritillary, is at home, in most open, sunny habitats. The Gulf Fritillary, also frequents disturbed sites, roadsides, pastures, open woodlands, parks, yards, and fields. It is also a regular in most butterfly gardens, including those in more urban settings. The Gulf Fritillary, is commonly seen in parks and gardens, as well as in open country.
Notes:
